A bit about Space For You
Space For You is a culmination of much personal learning and exploration on both a professional and a personal level.
A background of integrative counselling combined with training as a mindfulness practitioner has led to an expansive and very unique way of supporting a wide range of clients.
It is our belief that, at the very core of our being, deep inside ourselves, we all have our knowledge and answers. We can just lose sight of these, particularly in times of distress, anxiety or despair.
At Space For You it is you who remains the focal point throughout. Yes. you will have a guide, a supporter and a fellow explorer on your journey of discovery, yet it is you who will reach your own answers and make any decisions or changes of direction.
How easy it is to forget to fully breathe and to pause in our busy lives. Through our unique combination of integrative mindfulness based counselling we explore the importance of the link between mind and body and how recognising this can help us effortlessly on a daily basis.
A bit about me
Hi, I’m Rae and originally I’m from the South Island of New Zealand.
Early on I developed an interest in natural and alternative ways to better health and travelled extensively in South-East Asia, India and Nepal.
I qualified as an Integrative Counsellor 20 years ago and in that time I have worked with both adults and children in a range of settings, both voluntary & paid. As well as seeing clients privately I work part time with the Aquilis Counselling Service at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
In 2016 I trained as a relaxation and mindfulness teacher and utilise these techniques in my role as a counsellor. To broaden my skills and increase the range of ways to support those who come to Space For You, I continually undertake professional development.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework.
